Escape to the Irish countryside for 2 days of learning, working and relaxing with fellow creative piano teachers.
Feel like your teacher brain needs a breath of fresh air? What better place to inhale deeply and exhale positive teaching energy than the Irish countryside!
I will be hosting the Keys and Trees Retreat here in Ireland from June 26th to June 29th, 2026. This event includes accommodation for 3 nights and 2 days of learning, working and laughing together.
"The Keys and Trees Retreat was the most perfect brainstorming getaway one can wish for. Being an introvert, I really wasn’t sure about signing up for this retreat. But I’m so glad I signed up and went for it. I came back to India feeling so refreshed and full of ideas from Nicola and the other teachers I met at the retreat."

"Our Keys and Trees retreat this summer was amazing! Not only did I meet wonderful fellow piano teachers but Nicola guided us through activities and conversations that were truly helpful to my studio. The lodging was perfect, the food was fantastic and the setting was ideal. I hope to do this again in the near future!"

"The Keys and Trees retreat was an absolute delight. It was a wonderful time to connect with other teachers on a professional and personal level. There was so much creativity shared amongst the group and a true feeling of community. I enjoyed every minute of it and can't say enough about how valuable the time was for my own morale, motivation and inspiration as someone who has been teaching piano for more than 20 years."
- Monica (US)
"It was a wonderful weekend gathering with a small group of piano teachers from around the world. Nicola created a perfect balance of structured events, including break-out sessions in a beautiful setting, and down time filled with relaxing (I loved perusing her library of resource books!). After sharing ideas and problem solving current piano teacher issues, I feel refreshed and ready for a new school year of teaching. Thank you, Nicola!"

I will give you the exact address after you sign up. The house is in a beautiful area of Ireland and is in a restored 300-year-old mansion surrounded by gorgeous greenery. It honestly looks like it's straight out of a Jane Austen novel and it's less than 2 hours from Dublin.
There is no public transport to the retreat house. You can rent a car at Dublin airport when you arrive if you wish – just be aware that we drive on the left here! Most cars are also manual (stick-shift) you'll need to specifically request automatic if that's what you're comfortable with.
If you're not up for the adventure of driving on the left, I can organise a group minivan from Dublin down to the house. You can just let me know you want that option and we'll sort it out after you book.
We have a ticket option for a plus one. This will entitle your travel companion to stay with you (sharing your bed) and have breakfast with us each day. They can then explore the area or just chill and read while we do our piano-teacher thing!
We'll have about 10 teachers on the retreat. So a really nice, cosy group!
I do hope that if you're travelling from afar you can spend a bit of time exploring Ireland before or after the retreat! The typical route tourists take involves going to Galway and the Cliffs of Moher, the North to see the Giant's Causeway , and a few days in Dublin to see our museums. You find plenty of day trips and multi-day tours to visit these spots.
If you want recommendations that are a bit more off-the-beaten path, I'm happy to help with that! Renting a car to tour around yourself is probably easiest but you could definitely see a lot by train/bus, too.
You can request a refund (less payment fees) up until February 28th. After that, I will not be able to fill your spot as another teacher would have to have time to prepare their travel arrangements.
No, sorry. Since this is a local event we must charge in Euro. Your bank will determine the rate of exchange when you use your card.
You may like to have your own iPad or laptop with you, although if you prefer old-fashioned notebooks, that's fine too. I'd recommend packing for all weather as Ireland is unpredictable: a light rain jacket and some layers for when you're chilly are always a good idea. Our climate is generally a bit damp so people tend to feel cold at higher temperatures than they would in other countries...but, hey, that's what gives us the 50 shades of green!
